Board of Directors

Andro Nodarse-León
Prior to co-founding LEÓN, MAYER & Co., Mr. Nodarse-León was an investment executive at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Co. one of the world's oldest and most experienced private equity firms. He played a key role in the $1.5 billion acquisition of Sealy Corporation and worked alongside Sealy's Board of Directors and senior management to help enhance the company's operating performance, eventually leading to a successful IPO. Prior to KKR, Mr. Nodarse-León was an investment banking executive in the Communications, Media and Entertainment Group of Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York. Mr. Nodarse-León currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Cuban-American National Foundation in Miami and is a Trustee for the Albert G. Oliver Program in New York City. Mr. Nodarse-León graduated with honors from The University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics from The Wharton School and a BSE in Systems Engineering from The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Benjamin G. Mayer
Prior to co-founding LEÓN, MAYER & Co., Mr. Mayer was an investment executive at Tishman Speyer Properties LP. Founded in 1978, Tishman Speyer is one of the world's leading developers and owners of trophy properties, including Rockefeller Center and The Chrysler Building. He was a member of Tishman Speyer's Acquisitions, Development and Dispositions team and played key roles in the acquisition, management and sale of several New York properties. Mr. Mayer also spent time at Tishman Speyer assisting the Portfolio Management team, which managed the company's institutional value-added equity funds. Prior to Tishman Speyer, Mr. Mayer was an investment executive at the Meridian Property Company in Palo Alto, California. Mr. Mayer is actively involved with the American Israel Political Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the Jewish Heritage Foundation. Mr. Mayer graduated with honors from The University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics from The Wharton School.

Fernando Pinera 
Mr. Pinera is a senior executive with more than 15 years of experience in operations, finance/accounting and sales/marketing with multi-location high growth companies. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Fleet and Asset Management for NationsRent, Inc. (NationsRent), where he was responsible for the sourcing, disposition and financial performance of $1 billion of construction rental equipment. Prior to his role in fleet and asset management, he was the Regional Vice President of the Southeast region for NationsRent where he had direct responsibility for over 500 employees, over $120 million in revenues and approximately $165 million in construction rental equipment. As Regional Vice President of the Southeast, Mr. Pinera improved cash flows for his operating region by 170% and improved ROIC from 10% to 26%. Mr. Pinera was also a member of the management team that lead NationsRent through a successful emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, where Mr. Pinera co-directed the negotiations of approximately $330 million of operating leases resulting in over $4.5 million in quarterly cash flow savings. Also while at NationsRent, he led the successful business integration of 52 acquisitions, creating one of the top 10 construction companies int he industry. Mr. Pinera graduated from Florida International university with a BS in Accounting and has successfully completed the Executive Development Program at Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. 

 James W. Fowler 
Mr. Fowler is an industry veteran and pioneer with more than 40 years of success in the transportation and energy sectors. Prior to joining ATLAS Traffic Management Systems, he co-founded Traffic Control Devices, where he served for 23 years as Vice President of Florida Operations. He has extensive experience working with the Florida Department of Transportation and with a variety of general contractors throughout the state. Mr. Fowler brings a proven track record of success in leadership, operations, and business development to ATLAS Traffic Management Systems. Mr. Fowler led the adoption of the "wet drill shaft method" for installing foundations inthe State of Florida. He was the first contractor to implement fiber optic cable for use in Traffic Management Systems in the State of Florida and installed the first Variable Messaging Sign in Florida. Mr. Fowler played a leading role in the construction of the Florida Turnpike Sunpass System. He was also part of the team that constructed the electrical infrastructure of the Miami-Dade County Light Rail Transportation System including the People Mover.

Richard F. Ferrucci  
Mr. Ferrucci is Founderand CEO of Richard F. Ferrucci & Associates. Mr. Ferrucci has over 30 years of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer professional experience in the construction insurance and surety brokerage industry. Mr. Ferucci was President of F.B. Hall of Long Island, New York from 1976-1982. In 1982, he was the founder and President of Contractors Planning Group (CPG) and in 1986, sold the business to Coroon & Black. From 1986-1992, he was Chairman of CPG, a division of Corroon & Black. During the period from 1992-2004, Mr. Ferrucci was Senior Vice President of Aon Corporation, and as Chairman of the Aon Construction Services Group, Richard Ferrucci was one of the key executives responsible for the establishment of their national construction & surety practice. Mr. Ferrucci graduated from Fairfield University with a BA, and then proceeded to get a MS in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State College. 

Alex Penelas  
Mr. Penelas is the Managing Member of AP Consulting, LLC and a Senior Advisor LEÓN, MAYER & Co. He is a former two-term Mayor of Miami-Dade County. At the age of 24, he launched his public service career in 1987 when elected as a Councilman in the City of Hialeah. In 1990, he was the youngest person ever elected to the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners and, six years later, he was elected Miami-Dade's first Executive Manor. Throughout the span of eight years (1996-2004), he guided a community of 2.3 million people and oversaw a $6 billion budget. As Mayor of one of the most diverse communities in the United States, Alex Penelas' governmental responsibilities extended across a broad range of issues such as education, healthcare, transportation, crime and corruption, the economy, human rights and homelessness. Furthermore, Alex Penelas' political career has involved a broad range of local, state, federal and international issues. Accordingly, he has amassed a vast network of relationships that include key politicians, business people, dignitaries, and international figures. Alex Penelas as Mayor also spearheaded the efforts of the People's Transportation (PTP). PTP was a capital program that implemented a broad range of transportation improvements in Miami-Dade County through voter approval that allowed a .5 percent sales tax increase solely dedicated to transportation. The surtax generated $160 million in fiscal year 2004 and has grown by 5 percent annually for a comprehensive grassroots transportation plan that will among other things finance major highway projects. Alex Penelas graduaed from Biscayne College with a BA in Political Science, and then went on to get his JD from the University of Miami.
